Evergreen
offers three versions of 4" false-bottom serum
tubes for use with most high-volume analyzers*. One
is made of transparent polystyrene and two are made
of non-breakable polypropylene (including a new threaded
tube version).
They
all have a nominal capacity of 5 ml and they all accept
bar codes and fit into most racks for high-volume analyzers*.

The new
4" threaded serum tube is available with a HDPE screw
cap (sold separately). In addition to being used as a serum
tube, it can also be used as a transport vial and a storage
vial.
When used
as a transport vial, patient samples can be processed at the
"draw site" then accepted into the LIS as received
and then placed in the analyzer. When a serum sample needs
to be archived, simply place a screw cap on it and place in
the refrigerator. No need to transfer to a screw cap vial
and relabel.
For short
samples, Evergreen offers a 2 ml piggyback cup. This cup features
a low-profile flange and is available in clear polystyrene
and opaque polypropylene.
